Barrio is a trio from Bergen Norway, performing urban folk music from South America, styles like: Tangos, Valses Peruanos, Milongas, Guajira, son, cumbia and so on. In this tradition they have picked up old, rare material and also compose original songs in these traditions.

Meelodi is:

Ole Andre Farstad- stringed instruments, electronics, programming

Medi Farmani- Vocals

Melodi plays a unique mix of music maybe best labelled as ”Worldmusic” The Persian vocals of Medi accompanied by everything from classical guitar to more worldy sounding stringed instruments to beats. Meelodi perform original material exclusively. Some lyrics are by great Persian writers like Rumi and Hafiz. Meelodi are in the process of releasing their first album, and putting together a larger band for live performances.

Oscar Lago – Flamencoguitar

Ole Andre Farstad . el-guitar and flamencoguitar

During his lengthy stays in Spain Ole has worked with his flamenco friends, incredibly talented flamnco guitarists from the city of Cadiz. With a common interest in the music that moves between flamenco and jazz, they formed a duo with a wish to explore old classics from the flamenco-jazz repertoire. Ole And Oscar are currently working on composing material and will start doing concerts (some as a cuartet with with a percussion and bass) in spring 2008. In march 2007 Ole Andre and Oscar did a concert, (with percussionist Luis Aguilera on some tunes) in Bergen and you can hear a couple of examples here.

Ullan Gensa

Is: Lindy Fay Hella Arne Sandvoll Bjørn Torske Ole Andre Farstad

Ullan Gensa originally started as a duo with Arne and Lindy, through years of forming their own style of electronic pop music they got two other musicians involved and the band now counts all four. In the underground music scene of Bergen, they have built a reputation and are ready to widen their horizons with an upcoming first album
