Tres Musicos

Tres Músicos is a dynamic, acoustic ensemble dedicated to the deep study, preservation, and performance of traditional Latin American roots music. Rather than focusing solely on mainstream exports, the group specializes in unearthing and celebrating rare regional folk architectures, including Son Jarocho (Mexico), Plena (Puerto Rico), Festejo (Peru), Cumbia (Colombia), and classic Son Cubano (Cuba).

The trio brings these vibrant cultures alive on a stage layered with unique acoustic artifacts. Every performance is executed using authentic regional string and percussion instruments specific to each style—with all three members contributing dense, interlocking vocal harmonies. Highly active in music education and outreach, Tres Músicos has performed over 900 concerts across Norway under the banner of the National Cultural Schoolbag (Den Kulturelle Skolesekken - DKS). This deep localized footprint is balanced by rigorous international field research and tours, including historic performance circuits in Cuba (2013) and Mexico (2022).

Core Lineup:

  • Luison Capote (Cuba) — Lead Vocals & Master Percussion

  • Alejandro Huidobro Goya (Mexico) — Vocals, Strings & Percussion

  • Ole André Farstad (Norway) — Multi-String Instruments, Percussion & Vocals

  • With deep appreciation to founding percussionist Hades Hernández for his creative contributions to our foundational repertoire.
